"The greatest casualty is being forgotten"- Wounded Warrior Project
This business proudly owned and operated by a
Blue Star Mom, Times Two!
We value the commitment our young men and women make to defend freedom and the American way of life. Join us as we do our part to support them with love and prayer through "Operation Tearoom Troopcare" and "The Mom Brigade."
Operation Tearoom Troop Care
Through donations each week, we are able to send about 6 to 10 care packages and letters to deployed men and women all over the world. The national organization, Soldiers' Angels, supplies us with our names, while donations from employees and loyal customers keep our small operation running. Feel free to stop by and make a donation! Items most often requested by soldiers are crew socks, baby wipes, chapstick, single serve peanut butter, beef jerkey, toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, soap, eye drops, gum, candy, energy shots, snack crackers, and individual powdered drink mixes.
CURRENT BOX COUNT: 862
This week, thanks to your donations and help from The Mom Brigade, we mailed 36 care boxes to soldiers!

Until their return, we support each other emotionally, commit to daily prayer for the protection of our troops, send care packages and letters, and share experiences, ideas and knowledge.
Join us as we come together in "prayers and projects" for the ones we love!
Proudly supporting our troops

Ingenious!
Special thanks to the Sicard Family for adopting the 3/2 Scout Sniper Platoon! Mr. Sicard made a trip to South Louisiana and confiscated 100 pounds of dehydrated shrimp. Mrs. Sicard bought large boxes of instant rice and Zesty Spaghetti Sauce. Throw in a couple old saucepans, Tony Chachere's, cooking instructions, and our troops have Afghanistan Shrimp Creole! How ingenious!
P.S. Absolutely everything that comes out of the Sicard kitchen is delicious, especially the Blueberry Fig Jam and Meatball Soup!

A Day with the Sew and Sews from Summerfield Retirement Center. They have produced 100 crocheted caps for our warriors to wear under their helmits - an extra bit of protection, warmth, and shock absorption. We love you ladies. Keep up the good work, Marsha.

The Marines' Prayer
Almighty Father, whose command is over all and whose love never fails, make me aware of Thy presence and obedient to Thy will. Keep me true to my best self, guarding me against dishonesty in purpose and deed and helping me to live so that I can face my fellow Marines, my loved ones and Thee without shame or fear. Protect my family.
Give me the will to do the work of a marine and to accept my share of responsibilities with vigor and enthusiasm. Grant me the coiurage to be proficient in my daily performance. Keep me loyal and faithful to my superiors and to the duties my country and the marine corps have entrusted to me. Make me considerate of those committed to my leadership. Help me to wear my uniform with dignity, and let it remind me daily of the traditions which I must uphold.
If I am inclined to doubt, steady my faith; if I am tempted, make me strong to resist; if i should miss the mark, give me courage to try again.
Guide me with the light of truth and grant me wisdom by which i may understand the answer to my prayer.
Amen.
Letters we have received from the Front
Thank you so much for the wonderful package you sent me. I shared everything with all the Marines I work with. They love everything. We have learned to cherish the little things in life over here - Little things like candy, showers and freedom. Everything is going good over here so far. It's been three months for us with only nine months left. Everybody is just starting to miss their family and all the little things Americans take advantage of everyday. So before we go back to our tent every night, we read letters from people back home for a little motivation. Tonight we read yours and all of us Marines are so proud to be fighting for wonderful people like y'all. We're so proud of America for standing behind us everyday because, believe me, this country we're in doesn't stand behind us. Thank you so much for everything. you will never understand how much these boost the moral around here. Southern Afghanistan
I just wanted to take the time to say thank you so much for the care package! Words can't even begin to express how we, as soldiers, feel when we receive letters, cards and care packages from home. It shows that we are not alone, even though sometimes we feel we are. It also shows that we have people at home supporting us, which makes us even more proud to serve our country and the people in it! Bagram, Afghanistan
Thank you so much for the wonderful care package that you sent to me. I kept several items for myuself and shared the other treats with our staff at the troop medical facility where I work. Your thoughtfulness was appreciated by us all and we want to send a great big Army "Hooah!" back to you. It is my great honor to get to help take care of the fine young men and women who pass through our health clinic. Our troops work very hard in less than ideal conditions and I can't say enough about how great they are. God's blessings to you and your loved ones. Bashrah, Iraq
Thank you so much for the care package! I especially liked the white tshirts. Now I can go to bed wearing soft cotton shirts and not our Army PT shirts. The oreos and Milano cookies were also very thoughtful too. Take care and thank you for making my day in Afghanistan with all the treats. FOB Sharana
The package you sent arrived yesterday in good military mail system form - crushed! Everything was still intact with the exception of one bottle that opened and covered everything in hand sanitizer. At least it all smelled clean. Things are going well for the company. We have been very busy keeping things quiet. Living conditions are rather spartan out here but the good flow of care packages makes life bearable. Hope all is going well in Shreveport. Thanks again for the care package. Southern Afghanistan
Thank you and everybody at The Glenwood for your care packages for our troops. We have been getting a lot of support from the American people but our friends in Shreveport have been especially generous. The gifts came at the perfect time. The things were gobbled up within minutes. Christmas will will be brighter because of the love and support that we have gotten from home. Our duty now is to continue to drive hard and fully until we reach the finish line. Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan
